Club League

What is Club League?

Our Club League or formally known as House Leage Program here at MPSA is for ages 6+ and is focused on developing soccer skills. Assigned to teams with 10 - 14 players, our volunteer coaches work to teach the fundamentals of soccer through a full one hour game.

COVID-19 Protocols

With the ongoing efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented some policies for our Club League Program to keep kids, spectators and staff safe. They are as follows:

  1. One Guardian per Player (Depending of Field): For the time being, we are only allowing one guardian per player during Club League sessions depending on the field they are assigned. We understand this may be frustrating as many parents, guardians and loved ones would love to come watch their child play soccer, but at this point field restrictions must be maintained. *Additional family and friends may watch from outside the gates!

  2. Contact Tracing: Staff members will be assigned to tables at our gates to take a name and number for contact tracing. We recommend you arrive up to 15 minutes prior to your session to ensure you have time to complete this check-in.

  3. Smaller Groups: We currently are enforcing smaller groups compared to previous years to allow for more space and distance between players.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What Should They Wear?

     Under 7 - Under 9

Players in this program are provided with a Tim Hortons Jersey Kit: jersey, shorts and socks that should be worn to the sessions! We always recommend with Newfoundland weather to dress in layers, and to have a coat or sweater in case the weather takes a turn. Finally, they should have preferably cleats or sneakers on to run around in.

     Under 11 - Under 13

Players in this program are provided with an MPSA jersey that should be worn to the sessions! In addition to this, players should wear comfortable and appropriate to weather clothing, such as shorts or joggers, a long-sleeve under their jersey, etc. We always recommend with Newfoundland weather to dress in layers and to have a coat or sweater in case the weather takes a turn. Finally, they should have preferably cleats or sneakers to run around in.

What Should I Bring?

We provide everything the player may need for a session, however, you should always bring a water bottle for them! We always have some parents and guardians who prefer to bring a fold-out chair to sit in while the child is playing! This is totally acceptable as long as it is not on the playing field itself.

Where Do I Go For The Sessions?

Our Club League Program usually plays on one of the following fields:

Lower Smallwood Field - 44 Arena Road (off of Smallwood)

Sandpitch Field - 46 Ruth Avenue (behind Mount Pearl Senior High)

Central Field - 46 Ruth Avenue (behind Mount Pearl Senior High)

How Long Does the Program Run For?

Our summer programs run from the beginning of July to the end of August, with a final Super Soccer Saturday Celebration in the beginning of September.
