Micro League

What is Micro League?

Our Micro League Program here at MPSA is for our youngest 3 -5 players and their introduction to soccer! Assigned to teams with 5 - 8 players, our staff members work to teach the fundamentals of soccer through fun games, skills and activities over a 45 minute session.

COVID-19 Protocols

With the ongoing efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented some policies for our Micro League Program to keep kids, spectators and staff safe. They are as follows:

  1. One Guardian per Child: For the time being, we are only allowing one guardian per child during Micro League sessions. We understand this may be frustrating as many parents, guardians and loved ones would love to come watch their child play soccer, but at this point field restrictions must be maintained. *Additional family and friends may watch from outside the gates!

  2. Contact Tracing: Staff members will be assigned to tables at our gates to take a name and number for contact tracing. We recommend you arrive up to 15 minutes prior to your session to ensure you have time to complete this check-in.

  3. Smaller Groups: We currently are enforcing smaller groups compared to previous years to allow for more space and distance between kids.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What Should They Wear?

Kids in this program are provided with a Tim Hortons Jersey Kit, which includes a jersey, shorts and socks that should be worn to the sessions! We always recommend with Newfoundland weather to dress in layers, and to have a coat or sweater in case the weather takes a turn. Finally, they should have cleats or sneakers on to run around in.

What Should I Bring?

We provide everything the child may need for a session, however, you should always bring a water bottle for them! We always have some parents and guardians who prefer to bring a fold-out chair to sit in while the child is playing! This is totally acceptable as long as it is not on the playing field itself.

Where Do I Go For The Sessions?

Our Micro League Program normally plays on our Upper Smallwood (Ed Moyst) and Middle Smallwood Fields located at 44 Arena Road off of Smallwood.

How Long Does the Program Run For?

Our summer programs run from the beginning of July to the end of August, with a final Super Soccer Saturday Celebration in the beginning of September.
