Please note the following:
1. Evaluations at the MPSA Turf are subject to weather conditions
2. For the U12 and U13 sessions on April 19 and April 26, the sessions at the PowerPlex will be cancelled in favor of using the MPSA Turf (providing the weather is acceptable)
3. Players MUST be registered with MPSA
As we move closer to the Spring/Summer season, we would like to share an update on the player evaluation and team formation process for our U10-U13 groups.
This is an exciting time of year, and we are looking forward to transitioning outdoors while continuing to place each player in an environment that best supports their development, confidence, and enjoyment of the game.
Where We Are in the Process
Over the past several months, players have been continually assessed through:
· Training sessions
· Game play situations
· Ongoing coach observations throughout the winter season
We are now entering the next phase of this process. Coaches are currently completing a structured ranking exercise based on their winter observations. This provides an important developmental snapshot and helps inform the upcoming final evaluation stage.
These sessions will be conducted by Objective coaching staff, who will evaluate players across each age group. Utilizing independent evaluators is a key component of our process and allows us to:
· Limit bias
· Ensure consistency
· Provide a fair and objective assessment for all players
How Teams Will Be Formed
Once final evaluations are complete, teams will be named using a combination of:
· Independent and substantive winter coaches’ rankings
· Final evaluation results
· Assessments from both Technical Directors
· Evaluations from myself as Allstar Director
This comprehensive approach ensures that decisions are well-rounded, consistent, and made with each player’s long-term development and success as the primary focus.
Important Information on Evaluations & Rosters
· All evaluations are confidential.
Individual evaluation results will NOT be shared with selected team coaches or with parents.
· Teams will be finalized following this process, and once teams are named, coaches will then be assigned to those teams. Coach assignments will not be completed until all evaluations and team selections are finalized.
· While teams will be officially named, it is important to note that all U10-U13 teams will operate as open rosters.
This means that player movement between teams or tiers may occur throughout the season if it is deemed beneficial for development.
Player movement is not expected to happen frequently, but this flexibility allows us to continue supporting players as they grow and develop over the course of the season.
